this decade's finished & gone
My vacation hiatus is over! A brief recap: we spent a week with my parents for Chanukah and two weeks with the boyfriend's parents for Christmas, got some presents, knitted a freaking ton of stuffed stegosaruses and mini mittens and a hat, stopped wearing my glasses because they were giving me terrible headaches, spent some much-needed time away from the computer, played the computer game Syberia II, was introduced to the utter awesomeness that is 24, and saw Avatar in 3D and Sherlock Holmes. And now I'm back and definitely ready to dive back into fandom and icon making. :D
Sadly, I didn't reach my goal of 100 books in 2009, probably because I was reading some really dense stuff (and am still working on it) and because it was vacation and I was super busy. I am planning on doing the same meme this year, though.

095. Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld (2009)
I read this because jawastew's review sounded good. Sad to say, I didn't like it that much. It was well done, but was the characters weren't too interesting, maybe because they were so cliched. I quite liked the steampunk vs. organics concept, though.
096. Spirit Gate by Kate Elliot
This one took a really long time to get to the point, and at the end you still don't really know what's going on, probably because it's first in a series. I got pretty absorbed into it at the end, but the author is so bad at showing what the hell is going on that I won't read the other books in the series.
097. Indexing Books by Nancy C. Mulvany
A great book! I may be doing some indexing for work, possibly, and it's related to library science anyway, so I picked this up and it was quite interesting. It's well written and informative.

I sent out holiday cards to various people - sorry if I missed anybody, next year reply to my card exchange post if you want one, even if you aren't sending them yourself - a day or two after Christmas. *headdesk* Sorry for teh late, but it was an insane vacation. I hope you guys like them!
Oh, a happy belated birthday to sean_montgomery! We're going to be state neighbors soon! *squees and glomps her Abbychu* And speaking of birthdays, I'm going to be 23 in a week or so, which is totally crazy. *bites nails*
Anyway, back to fandom. I have lots of ideas for icons, and if anybody wants any specific icons, just ask! I'm planning on doing some Star Wars, various actors, and stock for now. There's loads of 12days_of_clois fic to catch up on, and Yuletide fics to read; anything else I've missed? Wank? Reeveverse stuff? Let me know! :D ♥
