rejournaling
due to the sudden influx of many new individuals on my friends list, and my immense amount of free time in the form of "5 minutes here, 10 minutes there", I have decided it is high time to start posting again on a regular basis.
so, that said,

for any of you interested in technical do-hicky, current projects: beating ixion (fancy dual processor linux box made for rack with new SCSI card) into recognizing the terabyte of new harddrives plugged into it. so far? it knows they are there..it can even format them...but RAID confuses it and it cant use them
project#2:Firewallness. my happy little whiteboard is now cleaned of the last persons fancy diagrams (but I still have some of his more complicated looking notes tacked to the cork board, along with an esc key) and is covered in tree representations of how packets will traverse the firewall. but first auron (fancier dual processor linux desktop recently upgraded to red-hat with harddrives galore and a pair of gigabit eth cards) has to be set up to start a firewall. and get arb off of it and onto another machine. arb is a fancy program. I dont know what it does. I just do as Im told and put it on a machine when someone asks for it.

just ordered Totoro and Iria from amazon last night dirt cheap. many thankies to gail. and free shipping is nice, I just wish it didnt take 5-9 days...grr...
still trying to develop my pair of disposable cameras from expo, Im told theres a camera store right around here..I cant find it. but then I did search in a 2 block radius around the convention center looking for the kinkos when it was inside 100 feet away, so maybe Im just not looking very well...
the its movie time journal amuses me. but did Ti ~Really~ have to post that? there are some things you just dont need to get that in depth with... still wondering who has the "showering with people" fetish tho.
this is going to be posted now because the phone is ringing. although it wont be for me, noone seems to have realized the previous occupant of this office is gone. yesterday I got a call informing me "your personalized stationary has arrived and is waiting to be picked up, if youd like to come on down I can give it to you now". he ordered personalized stationary? from what I hear he was a lazy git. oh well.
