brick quote of the day: "sick of the same old, same old? try changing ramen flavors."
current project: F*CKING #5!! I swear...its got a mind of its own.. (dont you just love my subliminal short circut reference?)
Hard drive #5 on the raid array is acting up. and Im sick of dealing with it. so Im gonna replace it. just one problem: Dell strikes again. dell decides they are too good to use standard sizes for things, so back to the old standby of taking stuff apart..
its been busy here the last couple of days. couple days ago one of the senior execs (I didnt even know we had those here..) decided he just HAD to open his unidentified email attachment. damn exec. damn worm. damn windows. immediatly something along the lines of 50 of our windows machines BEHIND the firewall were infected. two of them were broadcasting. we were literally ripping ethernet cables out of machines, running nmap, realizing it had spread, ripping more cables, rinse and repeat. +1 to list of mean untrusty users.
after that was delt with I had rto get back to the now very pressing matter of making ixion see the raid array. I thought I finally had it, when it beeped loudly and repetitivly at me. good old hard drive #5 (heh, that rhymes), which we were having issue with before, started acting up. but I couldnt deal with it yesterday, so its first on the list today. I need to reformat the new drive first tho. that should only take another hour :stare:
but despite all that, I am having a wonderful week. My Iria box set and totoro arrived last night, so now I have cool dvds. pretty much having fun and not being pissed off by parents. which is good. I wasnt going to, but given all the raving reviews of spider man 2, I think Im going to have to see it. anyone want to see it (or re-see it as the case may be) with me this week, or weekend, or next week? besides, Im feeling slight social withdrawl anyway. I have to fix my chair now. its scavenged, and its kinda now falling apart. so it needs fixing.
