The dawg of Baskerville: Blahblah review

Dawwwwww, the interaction between Sherlock and John continue to be adorable and ridiculous. I love that they played Cluedo! I think it's funny that Sherlock wants to know why John doesn't want to play it again. Why wouldn't you want to play Cluedo with Sherlock, John? JOHN?

Their banter, and the hidden cigarettes, and John pulling rank, and "With your cheekbones, and turning your coat up so you look cool" (Awwww, John, you noticed!) and John's "Sherlock! Timing!" and Sherlock's "Not good?" and sincere bewilderment. Then the whole friends business which was adorably silly.

Sherlock is also ridiculously dramatic, with the posing on very high things.

Pursed lips, frowny intense face, oh Sherlock, how long did it take you to find the best perch for you and your flappy jacket? He looks rather butch here as well for some reason.

Okay, the dramatic posing has its good points. It makes a lovely contrasting background to John's close-up. John's hair colour so pretty here~~ (Not shallow at all, no.)

Sherlock losing control with fear was well-acted. I find it interesting that John seemed so much calmer out in the hollow, not that fearful that he's separated from the others, and panicked but not completely overwhelmed when played by Sherlock in the lab. Even in the scene where John shoots at the dog, before and during, he seems even more in control there. Perhaps we can attribute that to his time in war? I like me more BAMF!John.

Something small, but I really like how Benedict and Martin portray amusement in their own ways. Sherlock's suppressed smirks are obvious. Perhaps he doesn't mind John seeing them, but it wouldn't do to be grinning too obviously for everyone to see. John's is subtler (like when Sherlock says "I see" in regards to the dog being put down, and John says "No, you don't"), there's just the faintest flicker of a smile.

Yes, I obsess about strange things.

I really want to know why Mycroft let Moriarty go (episode 3 aaaaahhh, it's going by too fast!). And the last scene...is that Moriarty's way of writing Sherlock's name all over his notebook with hearts circling them? I almost expected to spot the following:

Bottom right corner. Alright, my sense of humour is almost as bad as my photoshop skills. :P

The mystery wasn't very challenging this time, and I think it's because the clue really was dropped on our heads, with the way Sherlock was behaving after being drugged. But it was still a fun episode to watch.

And two of my favourite images from the episode:

I don't know why I'm so amused by John's face here. I think it's that 'patient, listening to our client who sounds like he's gone round the bend' look, contrasted against:

The very obviously 'bored, not at all patient, listening to my boring and bonkers client' look. And fffffff, Benedict looks pretty here. I usually find his face so weird!

I need Sherlock icons. :D

(All photos have been super brightened because everything looks dark on my screen)

sherlock holmes is da bomb
