Catching Up With Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles
by Alexandra on May 24th, 2008
Now that the third season of Supernatural has ended, and the CW has already began the repeats via last Thursday night’s episode, it’s a good time to catch up on what our doomed Winchester boy, I mean horror hottie, Jensen Ackles is doing right now.
Jensen has scored the lead role in the 2009 release of My Bloody Valentine 3-D. For more on his role, and on the film, catch up after the jump:
The film follows his role as Tom, a man who returns to his home town 10 years later on the anniversary of the valentine’s day massacre, in which 22 people were killed. Unfortunately there’ll be no heart-warming welcome, as much suspicion over the killings begins to surround him.
The filming location is Pittsburgh, PA, and stalkers and gawkers have no doubt
already seen Ackles in town a time or two, as filming began this month on May 12. Co-stars for “Valentine” are Jaime King, Edi Gathegi, Kerr Smith and Kevin Tighe. Word is that this film is a remake of the 1981 classic, My Bloody Valentine.
Fans of the film (and of Jensen) have had some concerns, such as the release date, trailer release date, and film rating. There is an
extensive MBV: 3-D FAQ for this film at IMDB if you’d like to know specifics about the remake, or read spoilers for the original 1981 version.
I will say I was happy to read that the film will be released (on January 23, 2009) without having to compete with any Friday The 13th movies.
I would definitely steer clear of any spoilers if you plan to see this film. Although it is a remake, and notably different according to IMDB, you can still see this film from a fresh perspective, with no 1981 baggage. Besides, from the premise, it seems our main character may already have enough baggage, and that’s OK with me. I like my characters full of trouble.
