A guest room!!! how impressive! And cats are very nice - you could have an indoor cat and just not let it out? Or you could do what we do and let it in and out through the bathroom window...

Unfortunately I don't live in a place where you would want windows open in an unoccupied house - and I don't have anywhere I'd want to put a litter tray so a housecat wouldn't work. Maybe in a few years when I get around to extending the kitchen I'll look at things again.
