Sense8, how I love thee

So I haven't posted about this, but one of the reasons I got Netflix was to watch Sense8 due to seeing the immense reaction on people's Tumblrs etc. Obviously, as soon as I took the plunge, they cancelled the show after S2 - and boy was there a lot of outraged yelling on the internet - but eventually promised a wrap-up so I did start watching, and boy did I love the 2 seasons and every single main character. They are my smol deadly children and I just wanted them all to be happy (and have more telepathic orgies, I have never seen anything that actually went to the places fanfic would go in the internal world like Sense8 did!).

Anyway, the finale dropped today, all 2.5 glorious hours and I just can't believe I got every damn thing I could have wanted out of it, including things that I was sure would only happen in the fanfic (like Kala, Rajan and Wolfgang actually ending up in a threesome, hot damn, that is what should happen in every love triangle but never does). I mean, a fully satisfying finale never happens, right? There's always something, some last minute dramatic tragedy to make it "meaningful" and "epic", or whatever, or some sting in the tail where you don't get the ending you wanted for the characters. I am just so happy right now! That is how you freaking do fanservice!

Probably there is nobody reading this who hasn't already seen the series, or decided they don't want to, but if by chance someone hasn't: give it a shot. It will make you gasp, laugh, cry and punch the air, and sing "What's Going On" to yourself, the locations are real and filmed so beautifully (it's one of the most visually striking things I've watched) and the cast are sooo great (though, uh, trigger warnings for suicide, quite a lot of violence, way more graphic birth scenes than I was expecting, and a couple of heartbreaking losses of characters' family members. But I promise the rest of it is really fun and cool and the concept is so good!)
