English Blog: Less Talk, More Music 2.0

So as of this writing my iTunes has 2503 songs, that's 42 more songs from my previous entry. I guess I'm just really addicted to music, because there's really no reason as to why I always add new songs to my iTunes. Ok, maybe there is a reason, and that is I like being in the know of good current songs, and good songs that haven't found their way on my playlist. Not to mention completing my One Tree Hill playlist, which basically consists of (almost) all songs to have ever been played on the 5 seasons of the show. What can I say, music is basically my life.

Speaking of my OTH playlist, well it features a lot of artists you've probably never heard of. Well I never heard of them prior to downloading them, so I don't know about you though. Anyway here's a list of some the artists from the playlist
  • The 88
  • American Analog Set
  • The Ataris
  • Augustana
  • Better Than Ezra
  • Butterfly Boucher
  • Chronic Future
  • Citizen Cope
  • DJ Shadow
  • Eastmountainsouth
  • Forty Foot Echo
  • The Gabe Dixon Band
  • Group 1 Crew
  • Highwater Rising
  • The Honorary Title
  • Jack's Mannequin
  • Jackson Waters
  • Kate Voegele
  • The Kooks
  • La Rocca
  • Mat Kearney
  • Matt Nathanson
  • Nada Surf
  • The New Amsterdams
  • Ok Go
  • The Perishers
  • Ray LaMontagne
  • The Shins
  • Smith Point
  • Strays Don't Sleep
  • Tegan and Sara
  • The Veils
  • The Verve Pipe
  • We are Scientists
So I'm sure you've heard about some of them, and I suggest you try listening to more of their songs. Because they're pretty awesome, mainstream or not, they make good music. Well at least for my liking that is...

Anyway I think maturity isn't the only cause of the change in my musical taste, since I think I can attribute some of the change to the music of One Tree Hill. I mean just take a look at the list of artists again, they're all pretty different in terms of their genres, and none of the artists there play bubblegum pop, just alternative, rock and even indie.

I guess OTH music can really make you appreciate music more, because you get to know more artists you've never heard of, artists who are all pretty good on what they do. I mean its not everyday you'll get to hear the songs of these artists on the radio, so its pretty cool to get to listen to them on your own terms, it'll make you appreciate them more. Or maybe that's just me...I'm not really sure.
