"You know, this is nice."
"Yeah," the brown-haired teen said quietly, pulling the girl closer.
"And I can't believe Toothless has actually left us alone all this time. What did you say to him?"
"Oh, I just explained that I would like to be alone with the prettiest girl on the island for a little while. He understood," Hiccup replied, looking firmly away from the patch of heavier darkness nearby that was watching him closely with twin green orbs.
Astrid smiled and bumped her head up against the other teen's chin. "Well, he wouldn't have any need to worry. It's not like I'm gonna drag you off and beat you up or anything...even though you did manage to scare me to death."
"I know and I'm sorry. But...you have to admit, I did save everyone."
"Yeah I know...but don't go getting a big head."
Hiccup grinned. "Or what?"
"Or," the girl said slowly as she sat up and pinned the boy to the blanket-covered ground. "I'll have to knock that big head back down to size...with my axe."
"Okay okay no getting a big head! I promise."
Astrid grinned and brought her face closer to Hiccup's. "You were pretty awesome though."
"Really? You think so?"
"Oh yeah. Very Viking-like and heroic."
Toothless rolled his eyes and looked away. Silly humans. If they didn't stop spending all of their time together trying to eat each other's faces, he'd have to take matters into his own paws.
