gotta love TIVO!!!
i don't know how much more i can praise the creators of tivo and dvr..... because thanks to it i got to watch the first part of TIN MAN and when i get home today I can watch the second half from last night....
since last night was HEROES..... and the finale for volume II..... i will not post spoilers.... i just have to say i was shocked with the ending and leave it at that....
anyways....
TIN MAN is Wizard of Oz but like different *more grown up and modern in some ways*.... DG is our heroine who lives in Kansas with her parents. but she dreams of another place.... then a tornado/ storm comes and then the long coats come trying to destroy her and her parents.... her parents makes her jump into the tornado. she ends up being in the OZ. and she ends up in a forest being captured by munchkins who thinks she's a spy for the evil sorceress Azkadelia, and puts her in this cage where she meets glitch..... with the help of glitch they get out of their cage about the same time as the long coats get there. while looking for the brick road / old road she sees a man being beaten and his family by the long coats *azkadelia's army* but when DG goes after them it was just a hologram and instead she meets cain who was stuck inside a tin armor made to watch the hologram as punishment for going against azkadelia. he was once a tin man *name for the police officers in central city*... with cain, glitch and DG goes to central city but on the way they rescue raw, an empath stuck in a tree about to be eaten.....
as they are on the old road, DG gets a flash and her father's story starts to make sense.... she sees the sign of milltown, her parent's hometown which apparently was once a flourishing place in the OZ, but azkadeliia wanted it to be erased... in the milltown there is a sign that NHA *no humans allowed* only robots/ cyborgs allowed... when DG and company was surrounded by the robots her parents come out and reveal that she wasn't really there daughter, DG was given to them for safe keeping until she can come back to the OZ. the head of milltown tells her that her mother the woman with the lavender eyes that she has been dreaming about wanted to give her something... DG learns that her mother sent her away for protection from azkadelia and that her husband died and she was weak. he marks DG's hand with a weird symbol that seems to be the key, he also tells her to see the mystic man *the wizard* in central city, since he has the answer to the next part of her journey.. DG and company leaves milltown right before the long coats headed by Zero *his the guy who took cain's family away* gets there.... when they get to central city, DG pic is in a wanted poster and with cain, glitch and raw has to be smuggled into the city. when they get inside central city, cain goes looking for zero to avenge the death of his family.... and DG goes to the see the mystic man, but his loopy since he is addicted to azkadelia's vapors...
meanwhile the evil azkadelia has the queen of the oz in a prison that only she can get too. it's revealed that she needs the emerald to start the new chapter of the OZ... and the woman with the lavender eyes is azkadelia's mother, the old queen of the OZ..... the old queen anticipated that DG would c ome back someday to be the saviour of the OZ... *personal note the flying monkeys are the tattoos azkadelia, they come out when she asks for it*...
back to DG, she goes to talk to the mystic man but his incoherent since his addicition to azkadelia's vapors *gives thoughts of bliss when sprayed*, and cain goes hunting for zero but finds out that zero is hunting for DG... the mystic man is sick and cain gets to DG in time and saves her from a few longcoats, as DG asks the mystic man if he remembers her mother, and her and why was she smuggled out of the OZ.. the mystic man answers incoherently at first but when he sees the mark on DG's hand he sobers up and tells her to go to the northern island and makes cain promise that he will not leave DG's side since she is the key. when cain was a tin man he was assigned to the mystic man. DG and company goes to the northern island which is located up in the mountains... as they approach this glacier DG remembers lines from her father's stories and it said that beyond the ice is her home... as she digs, a door is revealed and it's the palace where she sees a picture of her mother with glitch... glitch was once the queen's most trusted advisor but azkadelia took part of his brain away hence he doesn't remember as much as he should.. DG goes to a bedroom and raw said that the queen couldn't stay and that bad things happened in this room... DG asks what happened, and with the urging of Cain, Raw shows DG what happened in the room a long time ago... he shows her how when DG was a little girl she was killed by azkadelia, her sister and then her mother restored her.... in the image DG finds out that her mother left her with the secrets on where to find the emerald but then azkadelia and company gets to the palace and attacks DG and her friends.. she wanted DG dead but since DG has the secrets of where to find the emerald she lives.... meanwhile cain is fighting zero.... and as zero shot cain, it's revealed that his family might not be dead as he originally imagined......
and i will watch the second half tonight... hopefully i won't fall asleep like last night.... i give images...
