Day 1 - Monday, May 18 (Paintball War)
Welcome to the Paintball War.
This will probably be the longest post for the game, so I'll lj cut it. Be sure to read everything because this is going to be quite different from the regular parties you're used to.
The Setting
The temperature is perfect! The sky is sunny, birds are singing, small breeze
blows from East to West making this island seem like a tropical paradise.
First things first, as soon as you set foot on the Island, you may notice that all your special abilities have disappeared. If you character had say, super strength, they might still be pretty strong but only in ‘normal human’ standards, you won’t be punching through any walls any time soon. (Countries are just normal humans now too!) Oh, and you're to leave your weapons on your ship as well.
Everyone will get the following:
1 Backpack (for laptop and other items)
1 Flashlight
1 Canteen
1 Map of the Island
Everyone is to meet in the galley at noon (assume it is noon right after you’ve read this in order to keep time zones from confusing people). Feel free to set up your cabins as you see fit before hand.
They will be distributed:
1 BT-4 ERC Paintball Marker by Lapco
1 Pouch - holds up to 200 extra paintballs
All teams will be let out at the same time and will have five minutes to scatter and hide. Reborn, who is not on a team, will signal the start of the game with a flare gun. The game is 24-7, so you may feel free to bunker yourselves into your cabin for the night and hope no one gets in. Reborn will also be making your lives difficult as he has been given a tranquilizer dart gun and he is not on any team. If you’re hit, you’ll be out for an hour, please try not to fall in the river or you’ll be eaten by piranha before you can drown.
POINTS SYSTEM! + 2 points for every enemy you hit, - 1 point for friendly fire.
Barrels of paint balls will be set up around the firecircle whenever you refill.
There are several links here you might want to put to use that tell you a little bit about the island and it’s inhabitants. They aren’t very long so just take a glance through them.
PS. If you anger the Island, you might be punished the next day, so be sure to check to see if you’ve been punished! Don’t worry, I’m sure contracting a disease that makes you OCD about EVERYTHING isn’t that bad.
Quick Q & A about the Paintball War
Q: Why are you taking our powers away? I HATE YOU.
A: The whole point of this game is to bring back the crack. People with powers start pissing contests over who's character is stronger. That's not the point of this game. The point of this game is to relax, have fun and make each other laugh. Every post you post should have the goal of being funny. This game is not meant to cause stress. If it stresses you out you're doing it wrong.
Q: Does that mean no drama?! OMG I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT DRAMA PUMPING THROUGH MY VEINS 24/7.
A: If you can make the drama funny keep it coming. Your character has every right to burst a blood vessel at their powers being gone. It could be pretty funny to watch them freak out. If YOU freak out along with them, you're taking it to seriously. Stop that! Also if your character is too busy moping and crying and whining to play the game, expect to get shot with paintballs. And if they're not being funny, expect some form of retribution from the Island. It's alive and it demands comedy.
Q: I'm not on a team with my love interest/otp/bestfriend. You hate me don't you.
A: Nope. It was completely random. We literally threw names into a bag and yanked em out one at a time.
Q: Wait, what do you mean the Island will make me suffer?
A: The Island rewards good/funny/active players and punishes people who aren't funny. It'll be in the daily posts. The punishments are meant to give you something to work with to make your character funny again.
Remember, the point of the game is to laugh. Laugh until you cry and your sides hurt. This should be a game you cannot read about while drinking anything for fear of spitting it all over your computer. This game should RELIEVE stress not cause it. Do NOT take this game seriously.
Q: I don't want my character to have to do 'insert daily shenanigans'.
A: No one character is special. Everyone suffers the same fate so everyone is in the same boat. If you can relax and try to have fun with it, it'll turn out ok in the long run. We promise. If everyone else is doing it, your character should eventually come to grips with the situation and realize everyone else is suffering the same fate. Brownie points if they take advantage of that suffering in some way to cause some more chaos.
Q: Are you insane?
A: Quite possibly. But when we joined the game we joined for crack.
We're just trying to bring a little of that crack back in. It's only a week, and if you're willing to try with us, we think it'll be worth it in the end.

Other Helpful Tips!
If say a giant monster starts roaming the Island and someone has already posted "OMG THERE'S A GIANT MONSTER, RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!one11!!eleventyone" Don't post the same exact thing under it, use the already posted one to continue the screaming. Please post something new for players to work off of, you are welcome to still talk about the monster but add new things. It will be a first come first serve basis to posting that sort of thing after the daily update on what is going on with the island. There will be a new ooc post daily.
Also, if you manage to catch each new happening first, do one and give someone else a chance.
Try to work off of the posts that have already been posted first before posting your own, there really shouldn't be 25 posts from characters in the paintball war everyday, that would be overkill lol. So try to spread them out and give everyone a chance.
Take charge. Use this post to contact your group and get started. Get your teamates together and figure out if you want to log anything, or summarize the happenings. Feel free to log in this post or make your own. Once you've formulated a plan of attack, talk to enemy teams and work out a battle plan. Can't decide who get's hit by a paintball in a log? Use the Coin Flipper. Its actually really fun to take hits, so don't be a douche and say that nothing hits you all the time.
Please be as active as possible, don't leave your team in a lurch. Even if you can only be on for ten minutes one night, just see what's going on and let everyone know what's going on with your character so you can be included!
Obviously the group that comes in first will probably dodge more. Or maybe a member fell off a cliff and couldn't get up for a day and therefore never got hit. Get creative to figure out how your team is going to make it to the placement you've been given. Again, this link has many things you can use to trip your characters up especially if they're a losing team. Check out the monsters, ghosts (each cabin has it's own ghost) there's also a list of phenomena here too. The map links to a lot of the terrain as well, you can hover over the map or click the links to the left.
