Happy to report:
Bei Bei started off a little down this morning, but when I called both cats for breakfast (a can of food for breakfast, not our usual process), he came in and ate quite well. And when I came home from lunch he was snoozing, but woke up and then played a LOT more like normal. He and Mei Mei are having some treats right now, after a complicated game where I tried to play with both of them with the same length of string (not easy).
So I think -- guardedly right now -- that his condition yesterday was shock and betrayal. The back yard has been a fun place for him; he wants to go out incessantly, and loves it. So having a fight with another cat was a terrible shock. It must have scared the crap out of him. I'm trying to keep our usual schedule now, although it was hard to go to work today and I came home 30 min early, at least as much for his sake as for my own (spent so much time with him this morning, forgot to take my meds).
Whew. Okay. I can go back to work feeling a little less on edge.
