If you are considering the elimination diet due to food sensitivity, you might want to take a look at the Feingold program (a very comprehensive elimination diet focused on numerous factors from artificial dyes/preservatives to gluten free to lactose free to right down to everything free lol ( ... )

I looked at the same list for psoriatic arthritis and got worried, but they step it up in a sensible way. In my case, I needed prednisolone and salazopyrin, and that was it. My brother is on methotrexate, but his condition is much more severe than mine. Food seems to make no difference to my flare-ups but it does to my brother, possibly because he has the skin plaques: nightshades other than potatoes can cause flare-ups, fish oil helps prevent them.

Thank you for sharing this! I am trying, without success to lose weight. I take ambien to sleep and have found out (thanks hubby!) that I eat after "I" am asleep. Now, do I sleep or lose weight? How can I stop myself from eating after taking the ambien? I have gained over 50 pounds and had a discussion with the doctor on how I HAVE to start losing and not continue gaining. How do you handle everything? You have a lot on your plate and you seem to be dealing with much better than me. I admire you greatly. You have all that going on and still make me smile with comments in your posts. By the way, I agree with the coffee in the morning and cold dead hands!!! my thoughts exactly. Hope I did not offend you with anything I have posted in this ramble, never my intention ever!!! thank you again for sharing. Okay, um, time to get back to work -

I am also in the process of nerving myself up to try an elimination diet. I've had a few doctors tell me I should try it. My IBS has gotten so bad I am now terrified to leave the house, and unable to comfortably make appointments or dates for anything, and I can't keep living like this. So I'm going to suck it up and give it a try. I'm a really picky eater and just struggle to eat anything but white starches and chicken a lot of the time, so diets are hard for me. I also find the idea of going weeks without coffee or tomatoes or dairy to sound like a living hell. I just ordered this book (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0988717204/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i02?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and plan on making up a list of foods that I would be willing to eat or try to eat from it. Some elimination diets that doctors gave me before were for six weeks, but I've heard you can also just try to do it for two weeks, so I'm going to try ( ... )
