So I missed the deadline, but.
Couple of fine folks asked me if I might do the mini-Nano challenge, and I think that sounds excellent. So I'm not signed up for it officially, but I'm going to do my best to add at least 100 words a day to several WIPs this month.
(DIY Nano -- now this is kinda fun. Heh.)
Here's my haphazard plan. Might be 100+ words added to a single story or chapter of a story (ex.: Brothers and Strangers); might be 100 or so words added to two or more stories. I'm a writer version of a magpie and easily distracted by the shiny of Something Else, so I don't know how organized I'll be with, say, one story steadily growing, but anyway.
And I'll post what I got here. Kay?
Want to stress: b/c it may not be organized or even all that coherent, the updates will be to show progress only, and nobody ought to feel like they need to comment unless they want to. In other words, commentary of any ilk is ALWAYS welcome, but I realize this is kinda haphazard, so it's entirely up to you, whatever you feel like.
Candidate WIP stories for updating will be --
* Brothers and Strangers, part III
* the unplanned and untitled seizure story
* Man's Allotted Span (sequel to Land's End)
* untitled third Food-verse story (sequel to Red Beans and Rice, and Lasagna)
* Little Boy Blue (sequel to Under a Haystack)
* Kothbiro (as-yet unposted WI&WSNB AU)
Plus a couple of possible additional ones, we'll see. These are the ones I'll focus on, though.
Here's how it'll work. Each time I post an update, I'll tag it with the appropriate story tag(s), title/verse and so on, so that if you want to read it, you can click the tags for all other installments/updates. I'll also tag every update with "mininano" to give you and me another option for organization.
I think at least two of these stories have yet to debut here in my LJ, so today I'll post what I have of them. If I can I'll post the first mini-Nano update as well -- caveat being DENTIST, so today isn't an auspicious day for it. Still, will do my best.
