So, bunny based on one of the (many) interesting tangents about pretty!Dean in the earlier discussion. No beta, no nada, this is purely off the cuff here, an impulse, a one-off. John-centric, pre-series. Hope you might enjoy it. EB
Dean’s last innocence is gone, taken by a man who met beauty with greediness, lust, and John thinks that he will give himself, anything, a limb or an eye or anything at all to keep it shining from Sam’s wide eyes.
Oh, wow, that was just *perfect*. From the above quote, which I think sums up John's attitude to Dean to the end, which is just so sad. I could weep for that lost childhood and lost innocence - and the loss, thanks to John's monomania - of even the faintest chance of Dean recovering it. Sam was lucky, all in all.
Yeah, in retrospect I suppose it should be plastered with various flavors of warnings. I lose the habit of doing that when I only post to my own journal. And I think you for your comments! *hugs*
I'm stuck on the hustler stuff, trying to come up with something that hasn't been done already 26 times. *thinks* Gotta be some twist to it that hasn't been explored very much, right? Hmmm. *HUGS*
*takes a deep breath* Oh god. So textured, so *real* and horrific but real and I just have no words.
he doesn't feel anything but relief when one of Sam’s punches puts a bruise on Dean's jaw that swells to gargantuan proportions a couple of hours later
If the rest of the story didn't break me, this did. Meep. I read your earlier post, about pretty, androgynous Jensen and, by extension, Dean, and just. It must've been so hard growing up that pretty.
And I just. *flaps* I'm glad he's rougher, scruffier now.
Ah, amazing! I'm a newcomer to the fandom (finished watching the season finale last night at 11), a convert of ladyjaida's, but I've been poking around and read some of your fic, and it's some seriously good stuff. You can take a plot bunny that would be utter crap if I wrote it and turn it into something good and enjoyable and powerful. ♥

Beautifully written too. Wow. Thank you!

(And don't think you're going to get rid of me whining for hookerfic anytime soon, either. I'm a stubborn cuss.)

I love the fact that it's from John's P.O.V. I like the idea of a place like Eldon's, and the whole compound feel is a neat concept.
You totally win bonus points for reasoning about why Dean keeps the knife, I think I love that idea the most.
This is really good, great job. :)
