So I think this whole not having money thing will be a good opportunity for Mark and I to learn how to cook (crazy, I know). I was thinking...the thing I will miss the most about going to eat is sushi. So, maybe I should try making sushi myself! I've found a few sites that seem to explain it pretty well, and it seems relatively easy enough to get it good enough that it'd be fairly tasty and not make us sick, heh. We even have an Asian supermarket nearby so getting good ingredients will be easy.

That said, if any of you have experience making sushi or have any good website recommendations (pictures would be awesome!), please share. It seems like the rice is the hardest part, but I think I can manage it (or, I hope).

Also, if anyone has any recipes they want to share, that's cool too. Keep in mind that neither of us are experienced chefs, and we'd prefer things that don't take forever to make (especially since we get home from work between 7 and 8 PM). Also, we both are fairly picky in terms of certain foods. The safe ingredients include pasta, beef, cheese, chicken (though he likes white meat and I like dark, heh)...umm...possibly other things! Hehe. One or both of us don't like: mushrooms, cooked seafood, spicy food (i.e. I only like mild salsa, and only a little!), most veggies (unless they're a minor part of the dish, like in chicken soup), and probably other things I'm not thinking of.

I already have good recipes for baked ziti, tomato sauce (though I tend to use jar sauce since I don't usually have the time to make tomato sauce myself), and Bisquik chicken (basically oven-baked chicken with Bisquik breading). And I make a couple of different pasta dishes, if you can call them that. Pesto sauce I do sometimes (though it comes from packets, but we both like it!), and if I use tomato sauce I usually also add mozzerella and ricotta cheese in the sauce, so it's yummy. We used to make meat sauce by just adding cooked ground beef to the sauce, though we haven't done that in a while. Oh, and we have plain egg noodles and cottage cheese a lot too because it's easy and super-yummy (really!).

Man, I'm hungry now. :x
