Ok, this isn't the one I finished the other day but one that came in, like, half an hour of inspiration kicking or something, but guess it's good enough for a warm up, right? ;)

Ooh I like! I don't think most characters are seeing or even remembering their flashbacks when they appear to us but in this case that works really well. Everything from Locke to Penny is running through Desmond's head. His admittance that he should have told Locke sooner was classic but then he pushed back all other regrets when he turned the key. I also really liked the idea he thought he saw infinity.

1 down. 29 to go. And did I understand you correctly, this is not the one with your beta? Des has clearly taken over your mind. Maybe you should change your disclaimer. Maybe he is yours. Lucky girl.

Thanks! I really hadn't planned on doing this prompt first but then the idea kicked in and I thought he most likely would have seen something like that, especially thinking that he was going to die. And luckily he didn't!

You did understand correctly. The one with my beta is one thing that was supposed to be four Word pages and grew to ten or eleven, if she manages to go through it I should have it ready this evening. And yes, he has definitely taken over, oh Des. I guess he'd feel safer being mine than Darlton's, he would have a so assured happy ending..

Great glimpse into Desmond's thoughts during that moment! I love how you described it saying Des felt like everything was happening in slow motion and he was hardly aware of the hatch or the people around him. It was very atmospheric. Well done!

So much has happened these last 2 seasons that I'd completely forgotten about this moment and how gut-clenching it was with all the anxiety and wondering what was going to happen because of it. I think you captured it perfectly well, the stress of the situation, and yet Desmond is perfectly calm, collected during it - he knows what he has to do and why he has to do it. Wonderful!

Well, I think there was the moment Desmond truly jumped all the positions on my chart. The moment I decided he could was actually the one in your icon ;), but that part is just so beautiful and selfless of him that I wanted to write it sometime. Glad you liked it, thanks again!
