1) ... hi, it's been a long time. In my defense, I spent pretty much the entire last month studying for the most useless final that I ever had to take and I've been done with the entire session last Monday. Buut in good news the broken computer was replaced, so hopefully I'll manage to catch up with everything I missed when it was down and while I was breaking my head over stuff I didn't care about. And possibly catch up with fic writing.
2) Also, since for the last five days I've been pretty much sleeping my time off and because before the final I was drowning in notes: happy extremely late birthday to
mollivanders and
toestastegood! <3333 I hope the two of you had amazing days and that you got accordingly spoiled. ;) and since I don't know if on Monday I'll be able to post (see point 3) happy early birthday to
ozmissage! ♥ I hope you get the best of days and that some Mark Ruffalo clone drops from the sky in front of your door, but in case that one doesn't happen, still best wishes for the best possible time. ;)
3) Point the third: tomorrow I'm going on (real) vacation and I'll be going to Sweden and hanging out at
pnr's, and it'll include visiting Copenhagen, other lovely places in the south of Sweden and seeing Bruce Springsteen again (<3). I should still be more or less around in some capacity (at least on Twitter), but that said, if anyone wants a postcard I'd be more than happy to provide. ;) If I already have your address from somewhere else just say that you want one, otherwise send me a PM with it.
4) Back when I wasn't having computer issues I was thinking of doing some tv reaction post catching up for the finales I missed, but obviously I got swamped in finals and then I didn't have the computer and then I never did, so while I'm going to post some lengthy reviews of Carnivàle, Kings and the last three Sopranos season when I'm back, just a couple thoughts over the last two GOT eps which I totally missed talking about last time.
Blackwater was almost flawless, except that I'm still kind of meh about how they downplayed the scene with Sandor and Sansa, though considering how they dealt with it before the ep I couldn't expect anything more. But for the rest it was definitely the best this season - maybe battling it out with two and three, but I really have nothing to say about the rest except that they did that one perfectly. Oh, and Lena Headey's drunk Cersei impression was priceless. The finale was... well, it had its good stuff and its bad stuff. Good stuff: Jaime and Brienne (I could have characterization issues re Brienne but I've made peace with the fact that few characters in the show are the same as in the books, especially if they're aged up, so), Arya (nothing to add, the end of her storyline was done well), partly Theon (Alfie Allen you deserved an Emmy nomination just for the scene with Luwin at the beginning) but that part was ruined by how they ended it since skipping on who burned the castle and the mechanics of the entire thing only made it look choppy and confusional and senseless, Sam and the zombies (SAM THE SLAYER <3) and Tyrion. Meh stuff: Jon (why did they need to make the thing with Qhorin so convoluted?), Sansa (why why WHY are they giving all of Sandor's quotes to Littlefinger? WHY DAMMIT?), the House of the Undying (I mean, apart from the lead-up making no sense, the entire thing was a lot less cool than it was in the book, though I guess that short of casting Rhaegar and spoiling that thing happening in book three then it was hard to pull off - still, since it was the only relevant thing Dany did in ACOK..). Horrible stuff: Robb (dear favorite, let me weep for your characterization. The fact that Cat was there and that Robb didn't listen to her was just the last tick on the OOC boxes, but the bare fact that he married Talisa because HE LOVED HER AND HE WANTED TO was the epitome of OOC. Also if Talisa is Talisa for real - ugh. Just ugh. And that said, why the fuck would someone who keeps to the old gods and someone from the free cities be married by a Seven septon? BLAH). Aaaand that was my very humble two cents that aren't really that much in depth, but as stated by now it's been dissected already. Overall S1 was definitely better and I'm not sure I can stomach the Robb storyline thing, but let's just hope that S3 gets it better. And that they quit pushing with the Sansa/LF, ew.
5) For something completely different: I was linked this a while ago and it's too priceless not to share with the world.

It caused me at least a good ten minutes of cracking up.
6) Aaand now I should really be packing so I'll go do it and hii again! Hopefully I won't disappear for the entire next month...
