I lost a good wife, a bad girlfriend, and the respect of anyone who ever lent me money.

So thing is, today I was supposed to do stuff. But it had to be the day in which being a woman sucks and since I couldn't bring myself to do a single useful thing, I went and watched the first seven episodes of The Wire, S1.

1. So, I'm loving it so far. It really is good, the writing is excellent and it managed to make me feel miserable once already. Which is good, means I'm caring for it.

2. Before I forget it, since I could, is Kevin Johnson the name of that kid who becomes blind in one eye because of that policeman with the impossible name? Or I was completely out of it?

3. Alright, it's probably too early to draw out favorites but I think I'm rooting mostly for the Greggs girl (god, does she kick ass? I love her!), Omar, Bubbles (who's totally awesome) and well, if Detective McNulty wants to show me how comfortable his mattress his, I'd be more than glad to try it. I think he totally had me when they showed him getting the newspaper in I think episode 2? God, that was a nice visual.

4. I think I'm developing some sort of affection for Bubbles' addict friend there. I've sort of got the impression that I should stop myself.

5. Creepy-Not-Oceanic is a compelling character I have to say.

6. Is that wrong that I felt completely miserable when they killed Omar's boyfriend?

7. Of course the Major/McNulty's boss/whatever he is isn't going to disappear magically now, right? I think I could strangle him.

8. McNulty's Homicide friend there is sort of awesome.

9. 'Hello, I'm Walton and I'm a drug addict.' -> LOL STEVE EARLE WINS. Seriously. He wins. I get what he meant when he said they wrote the role for him so that he didn't even need to act because he totally wasn't acting. LOL again and uhm, he wins. Totally.

10. I'll admit I had to see the first five with english subtitles because I didn't get half of the dialogue/the accent was throwing me off. But by six I got it alright.

11. How good to see strong women characters. Thanks Greggs for existing. I love that woman.

12. IDK how I should feel about the D'Angelo kid. At times he seems decent enough, then I change idea. IDK how I feel about Creepy-Not-Oceanic truth to be told. Because he's decent and then he does something that makes me rather perplexed. Though his pajama is something way amusing.

13. What's with every ex-wife on TV being a total and utter bastard to her ex-husband? I can't remember one who isn't and the one here isn't an exception.

14. God, McNulty and the twin beds kind of killed me. Well, him, the twin beds, the leather coat and... okay, right, yeah, I found my eye candy.

15. Though this probably could change as soon as people which haven't been around that much grow on me.

16. I probably had something more worthy to say but it's midnight and I think I forgot. But anyway, I'm really liking it up to now. I'll reiterate that the writing is just great and I love how realistic it is. Guess I'll see more of it this week, though not seven in one setting. I need to save some for this summer.
