Oh God. Dear Locke, looks like even if they're butchering your character your episodes will always fill me with glee someway.

I guess I'll ditch it for now, maybe if they clear what's happened with Claire after the finale I may go back to it with a clearer head.

The setting already is a mess. First it had to take place between the Economist and Eggtown giving that Des took a trip to the Barracks before leaving, then it had to be post finale with them staying at the Barracks, then the Barracks got destroyed last week and I tried doing it post finale with them staying in the Temple but the setting already feels forced and doesn't convince me. Anyway it basically goes like this. Des has both the list and the ring (let's say he took it from the cradle before going on the freighter because he had thought it was going to get lost otherwise) and tries to give them to her, only she's been avoiding him every time he tries. So I start when he decides to get it over for good, he forces her to listen to him, she starts blaming him for Charlie dying, he kinda loses it and throws both list and ring at her leaving and goes on his own, then after some time she comes back, says she's sorry and he didn't deserve it. Then they talk about it for some time and I had this idea that in the end they both saw ghost!Charlie for one second or two but as things are now I'm making her seem like an ungrateful idiot and it really wasn't my target, Des is thinking in clichés and it just looks forced. *sighs* Maybe it's because canon has totally confused me on how I should have written it but I just can't get it the way I want.

OMG I can believe that Alex/Charlie/Danielle would've been too depressing! I'm sure he's a total darling with everyone there. And hey, an ex pacifist has to be zen right? ;) and BRING ON the Boone/Charlie! They're so afterlife boyfriends.. ;)

It's really hard to write any canon based fic using the ring, the list and Claire/Des reactions to Charlies death, because all these things have been ignored on the show. I have no idea how Desmond or Claire feel about Charlie. I don't see why I have to imagine their reactions and pretend these things happened off-camera. The impression I get from the show is that Hurley is the only one who ever cared about Charlie. Which bugs because Charlie gave his life for Claire and it was Desmond who led him to this fate. They should feel something! I'm especially concerned about Desmonds lack of reaction, because unlike Claire, I love his character. But Desmond really hasn't had any screentime, besides The Constant. I've seen promo pics showing that Sayid gets back to the beach by ep12. If Desmond gets back too and he isn't freaked out by the Claire/Aaron thing then I'll start wondering what happened to S3 Des...

I am actually making BIG use of Boone's pacifist side in my fic. Boone doesn't believe in guns and now his afterlife realm is over-run with people who have suffered indescriminate gun deaths. Boone is especially dismayed by Alex's execution style death. There is also a little flashback to living!Boone in 'Daddy Issues' when he joined the trek to rescue Charlie/Claire. The idea is that Boone always wanted to save innocent hostages/pawns from other peoples conflicts. So now Boone is doing this in the afterlife. He is still the liberal humanitarian. Anyway, I'll try not to take too long, because I think you'll really like this story!

You have a point there. About Desmond, I've got my meta based on the first episode which corresponds more or less to what I wrote in that lack of God prompt. Aka he's feeling awfully guilty (also because of his face when Penny mentioned Charlie during the call) but with being on the freighter/having not that much screentime they didn't explore that except for episode one. I guess that if he stays back one could see it in S5 or as you said in the finale but, not enough. My problem is really Claire because crying in episode one and a Charlie? when she's confused/shocked in episode 9 doesn't cover it. I've just lost so much interest/patience with her that I'm not able to give her decent character development and I can't bring myself to cut her slack/justify her lack of mourning.

I love your train of thought. And I think you have his personality down pat. Of course he'd despise all the guns related deaths! Considering that Alex's death is also a mercenary's fault.. and Daddy Issues? Now I'm uber-excited. That's like, in my three favorite episodes ever. *squees in glee*

With Desmond, a) he's had so little screentime b) his character always buries things deep c) in The Constant he was bouncing through time and couldn't even think straight d) it isn't like he has been giggling and drinking coffee. So yeah, for those reasons Des bugs less than Claire but I'm still disappointed. Also Desmond/Charlie always kept their flashes angst to themselves. I'm hoping Des might talk to Faraday about it, who is surely gonna question Desmond about his condition, right? Maybe not. Nobody asks sensible questions on that show.

Totally with you on there. And yeah I mean, he surely wasn't giggling or whatever, poor guy. *shakes head* I wonder what would have happened with those two episodes that they had to cut because of the strike. And the last sensible question asked on that show probably was Charlie's where are we? in the pilot, or something like that *sighs*. I hope he talks to Faraday at least. I'd love to see them having some screen time together.
