sunday
moved in. flipped out about the apartment (two person studio, crazy set up). met my roommate (another danielle!) and calmed way down. unpacked until robyn and stephen came by. went to little italy for dinner: family style at la mela, with a 1.5L bottle of wine for the three of us. stephen went home, robyn and i came back to the apartment. got dolled up to see fever pitch in union square. slumber party for my first night back in the city!
monday
woke up really early but sat around doing nothing for a few hours. mangos from jubilee for breakfast. finally got dressed and ready. shopped at century. tasti delite. played dress up with our purchases/lounging for a while. eventually got ready for dinner & drinks at panchitos: a pitcher of strawberry margarita, my fave tomato&chicken salad, and my first real taste of burrito. a little drunk tearfest and some hilarious drunk dials later, made our way to 2nd and 2nd to meet up with mike and his 30-something art friends for his send off party: apple martini and amaretto sour, a heart-to-heart, then his boss's apartment for beer and stuff. got put in a cab home by mike and gleb, remembered to take our makeup off and wash our faces, and ate wheat thins/drank water until we passed out.
tuesday
more wheat thins for breakfast/lunch. got ready for my interview while robyn napped. interview at 3 midtown, then met jason for dinner at dojo. walked robyn down so she could finally sign out and go back to stephen's. cleaned the apartment, packing, and caught a train to jersey. passed out pretty much as soon as i got home at 11:15.
wednesday
free laundry. helped mom finish packing. then mom helped me decide which pair of uggs to keep and which to send back. drove my parents to the airport. came back and tried to nap on the couch but thought about how i really needed to get back to the city. ate the food that would otherwise go bad in the next 10 days: poached salmon and strawberries. finally packed, made sure the house and the cars were all locked up, and took mom's car to the station. got back to the apartment around 10:30 and pretty much passed out immediately.
thursday
slept in, woke up sick. medicated and rearranged the apartment with danielle. got ready, then went out to union square to get a birthday present for danielle's old roommate. ID office. used bookstore and filene's, tried on crazy large jewelery in the street and looked for the perfect white leather slouchy handbag. came home and got in bed with old episodes of freaks & geeks. caught up a little with adam when he came home with danielle. made dinner plans for tonight with greg, did some reading, started setting up my ipod, broke in my summer nightgown, and made it to bed early but unfortunately still sick.
friday
called israel for grandpa's birthday. wasted a LOT of hours watching more freaks & geeks and doing my hair and picking out and outfit for dinner. almost finished setting up my ipod (i had to delete like 400 songs from itunes so i could upload everything i wanted to get onto the ipod). dinner and drinks with greg at cafe anyway to send him off to st. peterburg for two weeks: some questionable black currant vodka (??) that we will never try again, enlightening political discourse, and a full update of both of our lives in the past year. more drinks instead of dessert: a chocolate white russian, which is definitely a new favorite.
tomorrow i will hopefully be feeling well enough to go running on the 5th floor, then the cable guy is coming to install our internet (yaaay!!! we've been on dialup this entire week), and then dana is coming in the for the evening. sunday i'm visiting grandma and applying for an assload of jobs. next weekend my parents are coming back from israel, and chirag is coming home/to visit me for memorial day weekend. all in all, life is pretty fucking fabulous. i am excited to start working and to start my class. in the meantime, i'm just going to enjoy my summer and see what life tosses my way :-)
