BSG: Season 4 ep 1 "He That Believeth in Me"

Apr 12, 2008 05:08

Season 4 of BSG picks up where it ended in season 3.
Four (Samuel Anders, Saul Tigh, Tory Foster, Chief Tyrol) of the Final Five found each other and return to their respective posts as if nothing happened.

The fleet is being attacked and there is a fleet wide power outage so they can't jump away to flee from the Cylon attack..

Lee meets Kara just as a Cylon fleet attacks.  And that throws us right back in to season 4 episode 1.

At the bridge Admiral Adama tries to coordinate the defense from the Cylon fleet when Colonel Thigh has a vision of shooting his friend similar to Boomer's action.

Who else feels eminded of the shooting of Mr. Bennet the Man with Horn-Rimmed Glasses from ‘Heroes’? Maybe that’s just me… but ‘Bullseye!’ both times… *evil grin*

Saul Tigh manages to fight the urge to shoot Adm. Adama and the moment passes unnoticed by everyone else but Tory Foster Laura Roslin’s aide.

In the hangar deck everyone is mobilised to fight the superior fleet. And everyone who can fly is sent out, but Sam Anders hesitates and seems afraid of loosing it. The chief intently scolds him to get his shit together, when Athena joins the conversation. She doesn’t know that they are both part of the final 5 and she doesn’t suspect anything. The moment passes and finally Samuel Anders makes it into his cockpit.

In the meantime a bunch of fanatic Balthar followers helps him into a sanctuary on board the Galactica. Gaius is taken aback by the cult like following he has. He is treated like a guru and a Jesus like figure. Of course the majority of the cult is made of women… yeah right, longhaired and bearded ,Gaius Balthar is a real turn-on. *shudders*

In space the battle rages and those scenes are spectacular and of a real and deadly beauty. Breathtaking. During that battle Anders and a Cylon raider have strange meeting. The raider scans him. Anders responds with strange eye signal which reminded me of an identification signal. At the end of this encounter the raider turns and with him the Cylon fleet.

On board the Galactica nobody has a clue why the cylons stop their attack except the Four of the Final Five of course.

The pilots come back on board and with them Kara Thrace. YAY! She is greeted by Lee Adama and Sam Anders who tells her that she was gone for 2 month. She claims that it was only 6 hours and that she found earth. Adm. Adama doesn’t believe her and orders her into custody until they know who and what Kara really is.

She of course is angry that nobody believes her. And she's beautiful when she's angry.

Gaius Balthar has a personal Jesus trip and his Fantasy Six makes an appearance.

Yawnfest! In the end he heals a kid in Jesus fashion and is nearly killed by two attackers who want revenge for the atrocities that happened under his presidential rule. Adoration from his followers ensues.

Roslin doesn’t believe a word from Kara. Her ship looks as if it just came out of a factory there is not a scratch on it, but the tests don’t confirm she’s a cylon. Roslin interrogates her and Kara tells about her visit of the solar system and she knows how to get there like living compass. She has pictures that prove her case. But Roslin is not impressed.

The presidents turns to Caprica for help. She wants to know who the final Cylon is. The president feels a connection to the Cylon ever since they shared a dream. Caprica tells she feels the final 5 are close. But she doesn’t know who they are.

My guess is that Kara is a clone made by the inhabitants of the Solar System and the Final Cylon is Roslin herself.

The fleet jumps from the current location on the orders of Adm. Adama. Much to the dismay of Kara who insists that they are jumping in the wrong direction and it seems to physically hurt her.

During one of the next jumps she escapes her guards, whacks Anders real good *cheers* and makes her way to Roslin’s quarters who is asleep. Woken by an explosion caused by Starbuck she faces Kara wielding a handgun.

The episode ends with Roslin and Starbuck facing each other in a ‘to be continued…’
