OMG you guys, the new D'ERLANGER album kicks major ass!!! I can't even describe how awesome it is! It's like the perfect end-of-'80s melodic-but-vicious D'erlanger sound for the 21st century. Cool instantly recognizable songs, riffs and catchy chorus parts, I'm lovin' it all.
It begins with an intro called Kain (btw there's a lot of mystical / Biblical / literary dark-romantic references in the titles, and the music doesn't fail in this vein either!), that gets worked up pretty well, then exploding into a hurricane-like semi-distorted twisted version of (yep, you guessed it right XD) the "Ode to Joy" (I mean... this is the 3rd time in 2 years I come across this tune in VK, lol). Very epic and energetic. Which can be said about all the songs on the album basically, haha. They're mostly a cross between D'erlanger's haggard punk-blast and poppy melodic side, either having a bit more of this or that end. And they don't get tiring (at least for me, lol).
It's interesting how they have this ambiguity and duality in their art, like the intro / outro songs "Kain" and "Abel", song titles like "Beauty & Beast", "Romeo & Juliet", or the 2-part "Noir"-piece, whose first is a slow dark and foreboding number with the haunting closing line "c'est la vie", while the second (and ultimately, the last "real" song on the record) is D'erlanger at its most vicious, aggressive and harsh yet (it's totally in Engrish btw, which makes for all sorts of fun, lolz XD). It seems like the perfect hardcore-concert-closer type of song, lol. We have a useless but short and cool atmospheric outro after that, Abel, with church organs and chiming bells and stuff.

Uhm, okay, that's about it. xD ...If you wanna hear the stuff, here are two links (all lead to the same .rar file):

I encourage you to download it, it's exceptionally good IMO, but being a D'erlanger fan myself, I'm biased, lol. XDDD
