So, Maelstrom...

I am thinking of giving it a go next summer. (I'll find the days off somewhere...)

Anyone want to pimp me their group? Especially if you can come up with a plausible way for me to wander in already connected to someone in it so I have less to panic about.

House DeBrynn. We are INSANE.

Exiles from Flambard, we moved to Mill-En (post-revolutionary France, for want of a better comparison) when the Lower City framed our Contessa for treason and she was executed en route to the Old World.

Characters are all human though that's not a rule, a mix of noble and common-born, and all follow the goddess Weaver in her aspect of Lover.

We are in all sides of the game, from the high-end political, military, narcotic, faith, and going to the tea-house and having a laugh. You can ballgown or scheme or cook dinner, it's up to you. The only requirement is to think outside the box, even if that comes up with a crazy solution.

My character (Ana, the House steward) has a HUGE family back home - she's from a circus clan and has many cousins her own age. There are few true 'DeBrynns' still about, but with a little effort we could come up with a noble background connected to one of the other players. We also hire in staff and guards with no discerable connection at all (it's a bit like the Darkendales for adopting people).

Also interesting!

This is going to be a spoilt for choice scenario, isn't it?

Well you could always be like me and be based in one and spend significant time in the other - although I didn't actually find the DeBrynn tent at all this event. War kept breaking out whenever I tried to do something.

One thing that occurs to me is that although Ana is effectively exiled from Flambard (though welcome to visit the Lower City any time), her family isn't. If you played a sister or cousin, you could easily get away with being in either or floating between the two.

My character has no suitable family to fit into, but it's feasible she was friends with anyone LC from Terrino (the capital city of Flambard), especially the Smith church or the pub scene, if you'd like another possible tie.
