The Supreme Court ruled on the Khadr case today. Look I don't ramble so much on real life rulings, etc. (I read my flist for that) so the fact that I'm bringing it up has got to mean something. Really, though, I don't know much, but what I do know is that I don't want the government to be allowed to leave Khadr in Guatanamo Bay. DNW.
>.< Next time we have a federal election I'm writing in Rick Mercer's name. I give up.
So in happier news, I'm snagging this idea from
insane-duckfishList five characters you'd want on your side in any kind of trouble. Bonus points for assembling an "Action Team" with complementary skills.
1. Ten. He's the one who will come up with cracktastic plans to get me out of whatever trouble I'm in. Plus he's like Sheldon, but better with people! (Hence why Sheldon Cooper didn't make my list)
2. Mickey Briggs. He's cool as a cucumber when the heat gets turned up a lot. Yes, he's not as flashy or as adorable as the rest of the gang, but he's the one I'd want in my corner.
3. Merlin. Magic, need I say friggin' more?
4. Sailor Jupiter. She's strong but she's also loyal. I feel like I'd be able to trust her more than Sailor Uranus.
5. My team leader: Kate Beckett. Honestly I was so close to choosing her and Lisbon, but I think my team only has room for one HBIC. Plus she's goofier than Lisbon, too. :D But yes, she's got the HBIC bit down, she's goofy, and she's pretty freakin' smart. Oh, and probably the most dependable of the lot.
Name 5 minor characters you wish had more screen time.
1. Ryan. Just ... as long as he doesn't wear ugly ass sweaters I'm good. Seriously though, I love that he started paying attention to the late-night ads
2. Espisito. Um, yeah, it's gotten better but Castle used to never use Espisito (or Ryan) as much as they should.
3. Gita! I completely forgot about her, yanno, because SJA wasn't on since the fall and she's not used nearly enough. Maybe it's because I was watching The Thin Blue Line at the same time, so I was hyper-aware of how awesomely hilarious Mina Anwar is, but yeah, I want more Gita!
4. Max Brennan. I don't know, I'm not the biggest fan of Ryan O'Neal, but I love the relationship Max and Bones managed to forge despite all that has happened.
5. Ainsley Hayes! okay, I realize it's a moot point since it's been almost 4 years since TWW aired (God, I can't believe it) but I loved her so much, and bam! She kinda disappeared. Fsil!
Name 5 characters you think really need a hug.
1. Ten, pretty much from Doomsday til The End of Time Part II, when he becomes Eleven. Oh, I probably would've been not hugging him when he went on the schpiel about how he's never saved anyone as important as what's-her-name in Waters of Mars, but after she killed herself I would've hugged him.
2. Josh Lyman, when he found out his father died and when Donna was in the convoy that hit a roadside bomb. Yes, Josh was cocky and funny, but those were times where I just wanted to hug the hurt away.
3. Matt Saracen, pretty much throughout the series. He's had to shoulder more than anyone should.
4. Luke Danes, just dealing with the anniversary of his father's death. Dark days suck, indeed.
5. Martha, when the Hath died trying to help her. The crying was horrendous, but I still felt bad for her.
Five reasons you only get into one fandom at a time - or - five reasons you are multi-fannish.
1. The ships. I am a shipper at heart. Where else can I flail over ships?
2. The people. The fans can be so, so, so great. Alternatively they can be real douches, but I'm focusing on the good, okay?
3. The characters. They, like the fans, help me discover things about myself.
4. Escapism. From real life or from other fandoms.
5. Creative outlet. I used to write! I even had some plot bunnies pop by this morning but they scurried when I said hi. Still, fnadoms help my cogs get unstuck, and I do like making videos.
They had a question about fannish drinking games, and all I could think of was the DW series 3 game
goldy_dollar and I came up with (but never implemented. Shame on us!)- we had to decide against a shot for emo!Ten just because that would have led to alcohol poisoning.
