I've picked up yet another character in my HP game over on GreatestJournal: Fenrir Greyback. Yeah, whoa. He's scary and I wasn't sure I could even play him well. I feel a little more confident after doing a scene with someone, but he still rather makes me nervous.

Oh, and the scene? Was with Bellatrix. He thinks she'd make a fantastic alpha ( Read more... )

I liked that you gave him Sean Connery as an avatar. And Narcissa is my favourite character in the soap.

Yeah, Cissa's still my love, though she's rather shiftless without Lucius.

And yes, I got so man swoons on Fenrir's introduction post because of lovely Sir Sean. He scowls so beautifully.

Come, join us! Fenrir needs a pack!

Er... don't know the rules?

main page, with links to rules, application, etc.

It works just like LiveJournal, and characters have conversations through comment replies (makes it much easier when people don't have to be online at the same time), so it's rather like a play-by-email game in that.

The universe is Harry Potter, set in 1999. Voldemort and the Death Eaters overthrew the Ministry in the summer of 1998, so everyone's living in a bad-guys-win world, with the Order hiding out like cowards in Grimmauld Place, and Fenrir rallying the werewolves to strike against the condescending humans ( ... )

And I just thought of a werewolf character I'd have fun playing, based on my friend's dog Twyla.

But time! Not having games eat my life! Aargh! (I'm not sure I could keep up with the play.)

I'd been wondering about Draco - his relationship with Tonks changed rather drastically...

How does one join up? Not that I'm volunteering, no m'm. I'm just... curious.

Fill out the application, which is linked to from the main page, and either post it to that entry (you'd probably have to post it in multiple parts, because of character restrictions in comments, or email it to the mod... whose address I forget at the moment, but I'll look for it and get back to you.

Time and games eating your life is indeed a problem; I totally understand.

If one does pick up a character who had been played previously, it's perfectly acceptable to rewrite some or all of the backstory so it meshes with one's own view of the character.

Could you use a fourteen-year-old offsider who's always chasing rabbits?

Umm, 's long as she doesn't reek of Mary Sue and doesn't annoy Fenrir (the grumpy old bastard).

For that, her first name shall be ... Susan. ("Here Sue, Sue, Sue...")

I'm thinking, a junior member of Fenrir's pack, very canine-like, who is in London to acquire town-polish while they get some serious work done. They've just disappeared and Sue is sleeping in Hyde Park trying to get people to "throw the frisbee already!" and possibly find a member of her pack to tell her what to do.

Short, solidly built (runs with a rolling gait), intellectually lazy, extremely good senses. Cheerful, friendly, fights above her weight if she ever gets into one. Has not a trace of malice in her as she hunts and devours rabbits, and possibly humans when the moon is in the appropriate phase.

Agreeable? (If not, I can tinker some, or come up with a new character concept, no biggy.)

Sounds fine, I'm just concerned about how conspicuous she is (the Ministry not being fond of werewolves at the moment). But Fenrir does indeed need townies. I figure he's got packs in the major cities to be his eyes and ears in general and to specifically watch out for survivors of attacks, to bring them to him. But cute and disarming he would definitely make use of.

(Also she doesn't _have_ a pack at the moment because we're sadly lacking in werewolf players, so we'd either have to NPC them or say she's going solo? Hmmm....

Right. I have put in an application, though it hasn't been answered yet. I look forward to working with you. Hopefully I can provide an interesting foil for Greyback. If this one works out, I may try and create a few more werewolves for kick-butt-ness.

Werewolf No. 2: Aristophilus Goyle

The fraternal twin of the Goyle of the books, whose name escapes me, Aristophilis was brilliant, witty, handsome, athletic, and in addition a near-prodigy at music.

His years at Hogwarts he intended to be a dazzling panorama of academic, social, and athletic success - he would equal Tom Riddle and go beyond him. Alas, shortly after his eleventh birthday he was mauled by Greyback and showed the lycanthropic physiognomy at the next full moon.

School was out of the questions. His mother's loud cries of "Why didn't they take the other one?" while presumably well meant, were not materially helpful. Aristophilus was shuffled off to a discreet nursing home in the north of Scotland, something of a specialist area for the ... lively ones. He hated it there, the patronising nurses, the braindead patients, the clammy stone cells he was stored in at each turn of the moon - he escaped when he was thirteen and lived wild for some time, eventually coming into contact with and joining Fenrir's pack ( ... )

Ta. I couldn't remember, and I wasn't looking forward to ploughing through all the books to find one of the _rare_ times he wasn't called by his surname. Thanks.
