Out For A Walk, Late Friday Morning

Jul 21, 2006 15:12

Janet and Liz were out walking hand-in-hand, wandering near the Preserve, and taking in the scenery while talking quietly.

OOC: Liz modded with permission. Fact of their taking a walk is OK for broadcast, but the contents of the conversation, not so much.

"So, then I asked him - in French, of course - if he kissed his mother with that mouth, and he just stared at me," said Elizabeth, grinning.

Janet giggled, nudging at Liz with her hip. "He just would," she said. "So how did it all end up, then?"

"He was mortified, but even after that? He still refused to work with me," said Elizabeth, shaking her head slightly. "The DGSE agreed to replace him, and I definitely approved of the replacement." She grinned widely, and winked at Janet.

"This is why I prefer threatening people with penlights," said Janet, nodding decisively. "I find that once you have a penlight pointed at their eyes, they can't see well enough to get away and you can get them to agree to anything you want." She paused, glancing over at Liz with a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. "Of course, this is why you're the intergalactic diplomat and they put me in charge of the infirmary in a place that had Jack O'Neill."

Elizabeth giggled. "Yeah, maybe penlights should become part of a diplomat's bag of tricks," she said. "Somedays, the intergalactic part was easier to cope with than the diplomat part."

"Isn't that always the case?" asked Janet, her smile wry. "I'll tell you what: If you get stuck in a negotiation, make up a medical emergency and I'll come in and flash a penlight in everyone's eyes."

"You're on," laughed Elizabeth, tugging Janet closer to her.

Janet slipped one arm around Liz's waist as they moved into the Preserve. "Diplomacy via medical crisis?" she asked. "Have they tried that one before?"

"I've never heard of it," replied Elizabeth, her arm going around Janet's shoulders. "We could be pioneers in a new field!"

"Something tells me that that Jack would have one or two very pithy remarks about the idea," said Janet, snickering. "Not to mention everyone else. Then again, what fun is it if we don't spring it on them unexpectedly?"

"Jack has pithy remarks about just about everything," said Elizabeth, highly amused. "They'd get over it as long as it worked."

"Results are the important thing," said Janet. She glanced around, looking for radio spies or pretty much anyone else, really, then stopped to kiss Liz. "I just want to see them have collective apoplexy again."

Elizabeth laughed, moving her hands down to rest on Janet's waist as she kissed her back. "That's always fun."

"Isn't it, though?" asked Janet, leaning into Liz. "Bonus points if you get Teal'c to raise an eyebrow."

Elizabeth snickered, her hands slipping even lower. "I think all we'd have to do was this in front of him and he'd raise both eyebrows."

"Among other things," said Janet, her breath catching in her throat. "I'm sure he'd make some sort of wisecrack. You know, I don't know if Daniel mentioned anything about us to Teal'c."
