Janet unlocked the door to Daniel's apartment. "I don't think he's here yet," she said to Sam. They walked in, and Janet pulled several Wormhole X-Treme! boxed sets out of her backpack. "So tonight we're watching a lot of the Levant episodes? It's the Daniel Dies marathon!"

Sam was torn. The good half wanted her to be supportive, but the bad half wanted to giggle insanely.

Elizabeth knocked on the front door, juggling a couple of bottles and cake.

Daniel arrived just behind her, with a couple of bags of shopping. To his credit, he didn't blush.

"Evening, Elizabeth," he said. "You're not going to get far knocking considering I'm out here!"
