Janet didn't bother to wait for the pot to finish brewing. She pulled the pot out and replaced it with a coffee mug in a way that suggested she'd done that many, many times before. "I hate having a first period class on Tuesdays and Thursdays," said Janet, making a face. "So, um--" She giggled. "Flowers and chocolate?"
"I would hate having a first period class if I had one. But I don't," Elizabeth replied. She snickered. "I might have run into the esteemed Dr. Jackson over the weekend."
"I hate you," said Janet, pulling out the full coffee mug and putting a fresh one underneat the perkolator. She didn't sound serious. "You did? And apparently it resulted in flowers and chocolate?"
"Course you do," Elizabeth grinned. She laughed. "I was joking about last weekend and he took me seriously. I don't think I've ever seen a person go so many shades of red in one conversation."
"What, you can't tell?" asked Janet, sticking her tongue out at Liz. "Oh, you're evil. That's hilarious!" Maybe she'd stop by after one of his classes and tease him.
"It's just that obvious," Elizabeth replied, sticking her tongue back out in return. "I wasn't going to, but he ran into me and just started blushing and I couldn't resist!"
"It is," agreed Janet, putting the coffee pot back underneath the perkolator to catch the rest of the brewing coffee. She picked up the two mugs and went over to hand one to Liz, then sat down on Liz's bed with her mug. "At least we got chocolate out of it!" She giggled. "Wow, I feel like I haven't seen you since then. Things have been busy, haven't they?"
