I like talking about delicious food while eating other delicious foods, reminiscing about previous roadtrips while going on new ones, and talking about how great friends are with other friends who love them as much as I do.

THE BASIS OF OUR FRIENDSHIP

My parents also taped the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy show off the BBC back when they were dating, and I just about wore those cassettes out as a kid. My dad wrote out all the production credits/air dates on the little liner that comes with blank cassettes and everything.

Aww, that's so organized! We also had the published book of the radio scripts, and I read THAT all the time when we weren't on vacation.

True facts, I don't know that I ever even listened to the Yanni CD! I just thought New Age music was something I might like, god knows why.

And it is just such a good sentiment; your grandmother sounds lovely! I'd like to be like that, too.

Ooh, neat to get the rest of the context on the Vonnegut quote. <333

Aww, I hadn't thought about it showing up on facebook out of context like that, but at least it stands alone pretty well.

All of my favorite people are on the same wavelength as that second bit! It works out extremely well for me <3

The context was largely gleanable from fb, I just hadn't known the original, so it was cool to see more of the quote and rationale. <3

BMG omg. I got so, so many ill-advised CDs from them. SO MANY.

LOTR & Hitchhiker's Guide. Your parents were clearly the BEST.

I ENJOY THIS A LOT TOO.

(your parents are in the used book business! I had no idea! That is SO COOL!!)

My parents are pretty delightful! They bought an existing used bookstore, and have lots of general-interest fiction etc, but also run into some interesting collectors. There are apparently a lot of railroad book collectors and theology hobbyists in their area.
