Project Sprig: Finished!

Dec 26, 2021 11:59

After taking yet again a little break from this project, it was time to finish up before the end of the year. It would be silly not to be able to wear it this winter. I had put it aside to knit some low-engagement charity beanies that didn't require my focus and after three of those beanies I was back in the mood for Sprig.

I did have three tries on the first sleeve just to get it to fit right, but once I figured out the first sleeve the other one was just a matter of 'knit as figured out previously'. Get a good movie or a few episodes of a series and go.
I had lengthened the sleeves to wrist-length but I did not know how much extra the cuffs would add (as they were knit sideways), but it all turned out fine. And the cuffs are pretty tight so I can't really do the dishes in this, but that's fine. This is one of those "visit the relatives" jumpers that are nice and cosy and very comfortable.

Cast on on January 14th, finished on December 25th, I present: Sprig!

Today it will spend some quality time in a nice lukewarm soak and be blocked on some foam mats, and as soon as it's dry I can wear it!
This was a very fun knit, and I've changed only a few things: I've added some short rows to get the back neck up by a couple of centimeters. I've altered where to decrease on the sleeves because otherwise they would have been too tight. But I really loved making it and would recommend it to enthusiastic knitters. It's not suited for beginning knitters though, but it's easy and challenging enough to be a relaxing and fun knit.
