Baking

My birthday yesterday was rather quiet. I didn't want to celebrate it here in Mierlo, in not my own house, with a pretty smallish living room and a lot of loud friends coming over to inevitably clash with my housemate.
Instead, I spent most of the day doing some homework (my jacket is turning out to be awesome!) for which I had prepared at work (boss also awesome!). After that was done, I went to the attic to quilt some parts of my gambeson. The sleeves are all quilted now, which is good!
On their way back from their mini-break in Limburg, my dad dropped in with my stepmom and we went to a local restaurant for dinner. They had already had far too much food over the course of the weekend, but I dug into the most epic hamburger-with-goo (baked onions, mushrooms, bacon, egg, cheese, etc.) with fervour. Noms.

Today I spent most of the day baking... I plan to treat my colleagues and boss to knieperdies, which is a typical Drentish treat. I was in the mood for some nice music, so I downloaded Grease and watched it with my laptop on the stove while I baked my paper-thin waffles.
Around five, Tim dropped by to pick up some IT money from the Drachenfest setting and we had pancakes and watched two episodes of Generation Kill. In short, lots of time spent in the kitchen and an overload of sugar, but a good way to kill a Sunday Monday.
