Under the cut:
Today's challenge:
"In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Drop a link to your post in the comments. See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser known kinks or tropes. Find fanworks that have few to no comments, or creators new to a particular fandom and maybe aren't well known or appreciated. Appreciate them."
The very first fanwork I thought of was this:
The Five Kingdoms by winterhill. Link:
http://archiveofourown.org/works/245092/chapters/377939?view_adult=true It's Merlin fic, but the main pairing is Merlin/Gwaine. Merlin has gone on a quest to save King Arthur, who is very ill, but when he doesn't return in a timely fashion, Arthur sends Gwaine to find him. It's kind of a fusion with Gwaine and the Green Knight and it's long and it's so good. It's honestly one of the best fics I've read in any fandom - it's creative, original and Merlin and Gwaine are just fantastic together. Honestly if I picked this book up in a store and read the summary, I'd buy the book.
Second:
Touchstone by machshefa:
http://machshefa.livejournal.com/112921.htmlWritten for the holmestice fic exchange on LJ. It's a lovely, lovely magic realism story about John and Sherlock finding each other. Inadequate description is inadequate but it's like ... the writer paints pictures with words.
Third:
Drive Till You See the Daylight by fools_game:
http://fools-game.livejournal.com/181057.html I may be slightly biased because I beta'd this but seriously. If you're in the Adam Lambert fandom and read Adam/Tommy; you have to read this. It starts out as Tommy/everyone and her slightly slutty, eager-to-please Tommy is so much fun to read.
- I'm only doing three recs because I have a headache and I'm kind of sleepy. Also I apologise for the lack of formatting. I'm terrible at html at the best of times.
