So ... yeah. Um. I'm writing this Adam/Tommy AU kind of thing, and I need musos, or people who work in music stores, because it's kind of a what-if-Tommy-missed-the-audition kind of fic, and my muse hates me and decided that hey, let's have Tommy work in a music store! Which. You could write on the back of a stamp what I know about music stores. (

I don't know a thing about heavy metal, except that my bro-in-law plays bass for Rob Zombie, but I did once date a guy who worked at a mall record store. He said that at first he thought it would be a great job, surrounded by music all day, but it turned out that he got told what the store had to play, you had to deal with stupid people all day, crying babies and shoplifters. In the end he said that selling retail music wasn't any different than selling shoes or lawnmowers. Hope that helps
