iTunes can suck it

So last night after working two jobs I came home with the expection to download some new music, since I haven't been able to since July due to my computer being in complete shambles. Jeff finally cleaned it up and unistalled Windows 2000 and installed Windows XP on it. This required me to completely erase all 2,000+ songs on my itunes and ipod. ok, ok, no biggie, right? I had to burn everything I didn't already have on a disc. no biggie.

Ok, so now I have re-downloaded iTunes and other various programs so I can start the painstakingly long process of re-downloading all of my music, which SUCKS balls. Then I find out that there is no longer a "sound device" on my computer because it was erased when Jeff cleaned my computer. Great. Apparently we need to re-install some CDRom that came with my computer three years ago. Well after going through every box in every closet and the storage unit, we cannot find said CDRom. ok, so Jeff emails my computer company to see what we can do to fix this. That was Saturday, it is now Wednesday and they haven't gotten back to us.

While monkeying around with itunes I have found that even though I cannot play the music I have downloaded, I can still import CDs and they will import to my ipod. Cool, at least I can still put some music on the device and have music at the gym. Cool. The iTunes store works (well I should say the screen comes up). I tried to buy some tracks last night and it tells me that I need to download the newest version of iTunes...7.0 or something. Ok, so I do it and the download works just fine. So then I go to purchase those tracks...guess what it asks me to do? Download the newest version...AGAIN. I try this over and over again a few times, re-boot, but to my dismay it still will not let me buy any new tracks. Annoying!

So now here I am with no working computer, no iTunes, no new music, and a very sad Jane.

I am now on the market for a sweet labtop...anyone have any suggestions?
