RALPH LAUREN...

Yes I saw the man himself. In fact we were no more than 5 feet away from each other. Upon arriving at the Vertical Campus I thought I already missed him coming from the Newman Library Across the street, because there were hardly any students lingering. Apparently hardly anyone knew nor cared he was around. I asked the security guard by the turnstiles near the entrance if he came in already. He said "no, he's coming in right now".

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I quickly grabbed the Town & Country magazine with him on the cover, a marker to autograph with and my camera out of my bag and nervously waited. All of the sudden, there he was! He's alot shorter than I thought, about 5'6 (and that's with the boots). He rocked jeans, a plain white t-shirt tucked in, a brown leather belt with a big silver buckle and this amazing tan leather motorcycle jacket. What a sight. I stared at him, fascinated...and FROZEN as he slowly and calmly walked by. Next thing I know he was surrounded by 2 tall men in black suits and two women publicist/assistants. They were already standing by the elevator when I finally snapped out of it. The only thing left for me to do was take pictures. He got in the elevator and the people with him brought to his attention that pictures were being taken. He looked straight into the camera and smiled as I snapped away. (Only when my flash started going off did the students realize something was going on.) Then, the door closed and that was it. I'm so upset and disappointed in myself for not saying anything. As he walked by, no joke I was in a daze, again I was fascinated, motionless, spellbound. I didn't get to meet him, shake his hand and show him how much I appreciated his work and he was right there in front of me. Sigh. =(

The security guard told me what room he'll be in. When I got there at 12:30 the lady standing by the door said he'll be finished speaking between 2:00-2:30. I came back at 1:30 just in case he decide to leave early. I was right. The room was already empty. SOB!!! I actually wanted to wait after talking to the lady but I didn't want to be a stalker. I had the feeling he wasn't going to stay that long. Pretty upsetting.

Later in the afternoon after my programming class I went to hang out with Joy at her theater. She tried her best to make me feel better about the whole RL situation even though she and my other girlfriends never fully understood my love and fascination for everything RL. I explained to her that I'm a fan of a few celebrities but never would I bother going to see them even if they were to show up in school. Like if J-Lo decided to make an appearance next week I couldn't care less even though I sweat the chick. RL is totally set apart from the rest because he always had a direct influence in my lifestyle. He's my friggin idol man!!! Ya hear me? Oh well, there's always a next time.

I will post whatever picture I took when I develop them.

LJ has been fun lately, however I'll be staying away from it from today till I'm done with finals. Again, well-wishings are welcomed. In the meantime for those interested I leave links from the SUPER AWESOME Ralph Lauren 2003 Collection runway shows (QuickTime needed):
