Here we go - a brand new year, and a brand new decade too! I was refecting about how much has changed in my life, in the last ten years. Well for starters, I have lost some precious Aunts and Uncles, on Mum's side of the family. I think my biggest loss, though, was in 2006, when Dad died. I hadn't really dealt with death much - a Aunt who I was extremely close yo died unepected back in 1997, but Dad's death was massive. Mum still misses him a lot - especailly over Christmas and New Year.
But onto happier things - ten years ago, I was only just discovering the world of Potter. Harry has helped me through some really hard times - no matter how hard life was for me, at least I didn't have Voldemort to deal with! Jo has created the most wonderful series, I shall always be grateful to her.
The biggest change I have done in this past decade is lose over four stone in weight. This past year, a pound or two has crept on, so my New Year's resolution is to lose about a stone. Mum has a very special birthday in March, so something to aim for! Dad was so, so proud of me, the weight I determained to change my eating habits. So I am doing it for him too!
That was me, ten years ago , on New Year's Eve 1999. Not a full length shot, but you can see how "fat in the face" I am.
So my resolutions are to lose a little - only a little! - weight, and also not to worry about things, and let things happen in their own good time!
