Everything went great at the appointment! I completely misunderstood her though and we didn't get an ultrasound today. We have to schedule one at another location. John and I were bummed but hopefully we can schedule it soon. John really wanted to have a picture to take home to show his parents but we still have the onesie to give to them. They are going to contact my insurance for approval for the ultrasound and then let us know. She mentioned that I could also get the first Down Syndrome test done at the same time as the ultrasound but I told her that I don't want to get it. False positives are common and I don't want to add unnecessary anxiety. We also don't have a history of it in either of our families. Of course, I talked about it with John and he completely agrees. She did a pelvic exam because she couldn't feel a difference in my uterus the last appointment but she said, "Yup, definitely feel it now!". All my blood tests from the last appointment came back normal so nothing to worry about there. But the weird thing is I've only gained a 1/2 pound since my last appointment! I could have sworn I gained at least a couple pounds. I told her that I've been eating non-stop and haven't had any morning sickness. She said not to say I don't have morning sickness too loud or all the other pregnant women will be jealous, lol. I wanted to make sure she had the right due date since she wrote down two different dates last time. So I told her the date of my temperature shift again and she calculated my due date as June 15th, which is what I had based on TTOYF. I also asked her about the flu vaccinations and she said she recommends that I get both but if I do not want to get the H1N1 that is my choice and she will support it. So I decided I'm not going to get the H1N1 but look into getting the seasonal flu. I need to find a place to get it since they don't offer it at her office. But I believe Walgreens and Target have seasonal flu shots available. It's the H1N1 that you can't find anywhere. I also asked her about wearing a mask on the airplane and she said that she doesn't think it's necessary but I can wear one if I feel like I need the extra protection. I'm still on the fence about it. I'm going to get one from work just in case and decide that night if I want to wear it. So that's that! I was disappointed we couldn't get an ultrasound but I'm hoping we can schedule it in the next couple weeks. We fly to Cape Cod late tomorrow night and I can't wait to break the news to John's family! I'm so excited for everyone to know!
