I guess I'm back

Jul 03, 2007 05:42

I don't even know why. I woke up today and realized that my mind was... well, twitchy. I can't say I miss this place, what with all the grief it's brought me in the past years. At the same time, some great things came of it as well. Painful as it was, I went back through all the old entries... the good and the bad. It's amazing to realize how, even ( Read more... )

You should give me a call sometime. Or, I'll call you, drag you out of the house. Probably try to rope you into taking in a movie with me. God knows I could use the company.

Or, failing that, I'll probably wind up talking your ear off about the stuff I've been writing. You worked for Sorkin, you've gotta be used to that.

Be careful what you wish for. I tend to talk too much, I warn you of that ahead of time. I haven't been out to a movie in ages, so I'll take you up on that, too. God knows I could use the company, too.

And given the list of people I've worked for and with, I've grown accustomed to listening to everyone's project ideas. Consider me a sounding board at will.

Hahaha, talk too much? You should know, I'm Quentin, and I INVENTED that shit. I've got a hell of a collection of old prints at my place, and I'm always down for going out to see something new, or a revival someplace. I'm a film junkie from way back, Janel. I'm pretty sure I can introduce you to stuff you've never seen.

I'll take you up on that. But be warned, most of my ideas aren't FCC friendly. You could wind up a little on the shocked side.

Ha! Ok, while I'll grant you that I didn't give you the proper credit of being THE Tarantino when it comes to the overly verbose, give me the due respect of surviving 7 years on a show liberally coated in frat-boy actors. It takes an awful lot to shock me.

Alright, now that sounds like a challenge. We should definitely hang out some, lady. Yeah, I'm betting you picked up some boys club tips from the West Wingers, but I'm a whole different flavor of milkshake, trust me. I spend my time watching old 70's flicks, when there wasn't much people wouldn't try to talk about on screen. You wound up in something of mine, chances are good it'd involve you packing heat, and having to endure being stared down or badmouthed by Sam Jackson, you think you could hang with that?

Are you kidding? If I ever got to be in anything with your stamp on it, I'd want to be the one in an epic 30-minute long motion controlled ass beating scene with Mr. Jackson. I'm tired of playing marshmallows. I want be the primary cause of wall-to-wall brain spatter for once.

We should DEFINITELY talk, then. I've got some ideas I think you'd like. Screen tests would probably be good, not that I doubt you can bring out some steel, but I'd have to be sure.

We should hang out, regardless. I hate screen testing, but yeah, it's a necessary evil. I just happen to like the picture in my mind that something like walking down the street would involve alley-way heists, car bombs, and random crossfire. My imagination keeps me warm at night.

I also like planning war strategies in the event various states in the US decide to declare war on one another. Just in case.

I could defiitely see you in a role where you're a button-down secretary by day, and a sleek, badass criminal cat burgalar at night, stealing jewels and bearer bonds, and fighting off cops who don't know whether to cuff you or try and kiss you.

Well, I definitely look forward to spending some time together in the near future. It's about time I crawled out of this shell.

I think everybody gets caught up in themselves from time to time, turns internal instead of external, but it's really a lot more healthy to just jump outside every now and then and at least take a look around. I'll help you, don't worry.
