Here is a post to wish you all a wonderful Mother's Day!
Whether you're the mother of a child ,dog, cat, hamster, fish, bird, snake, turtle, ferret or an abandoned cheaping baby field mouse and a Peter Pan of a Wheaten. You have taken on a role to care and nurture, a completely selfless act of love and kindness and you should be proud. I know I sound a little mushy but I'm allowed on Mother's Day, it's the law:) I must say that I feel so blessed to have the most amazing Mom who always seemed to make everything special. I can only strive to do as she did.
Do you know how I always know Mother's Day is around the corner? I get a momentous visit from the first hummingbird and to me that is my gift. They are just the darn sweetest! I wasn't sure whether we would be found in our new home as we haven't planted grass seed yet and lots of woods, but we were, red ribbons flying, they found me! The jewels of spring and summer as they flutter and whiz by leaving you in question. I remeber my first meeting with a little guy (ruby throated male). I had only seen them in pictures and as ornamental trinkets, and never thought or realized they're actually real! I happened to be browsing through an issue of Cosmopolitan, after all I was single then, pre-marriage days and fashion was everything, not to mention great tips on relationships. Now-- it's Better Homes and Gardens for me and I love it, couldn't be happier really! So as I was babbling- It was a gorgeous sunny Spring day laden with baby buds and bumble bees and me taking in every sight and sound . I watched the sway of elm trees overhead under a blankety blue sky and that feeling in the air when everything feels new again enveloped me. Here comes the infamous buz and I thought "Super sized bumble bee!" and glanced down at my vibrant red Geranium to find it there flittering and fluttering with it's practically tranparent wings. The pearlescent red and greens dazzled in the sun. For a minute I thought I spotted a tiny fairy drinking from the nectar of my flower. I peaked and remained still and quiet, only my eyes followed like a haunted statue as it happily sampled every morsel and finally swirls and turns and zooms up to its waiting tree top. What a little miracle of God... for seeing one will not only leave you in awe but make you smile:) As Mother's we certainly have created our own miracles too. Haven't we?
So raise your glasses high and feel all warm and fuzzy because you're a Mom! And have a happy day :)
