Chronic pain is a bitch! And its psychological bite is sometimes worse than the physical, they say. I have a friend going through chronic back pain for eight months now and this is what she tells herself when she feels like breaking down, especially in front of her eight year-old daughter, "things will get better, get it together, be strong, move on."
