Happy New Year

Jan 01, 2007 16:44

I've got today off, so I woke up at a decent hour and made waffles for me and the husband (whole wheat with pecans for me and Belgian with powdered sugar on top for him). We were both very pleased and are stuffed with waffle.

He's going to work in a little bit, so I'm going to have the whole evening to myself. I started Virginia Woolf: A Biography by Quentin Bell a couple of days ago and will probably read more of it tonight. It's very good. I'm to 1904 already. Virginia Woolf is fascinating to me for reasons I can't quite put my finger on. Surprisingly, I haven't read any of her fiction. I've got this idea in my head that it is especially challenging and am intimidated. I love her non-fiction though.

I'm also reading House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielzizizizizi. Whatever. I don't feel like getting up and going into the other room to check the name right now. This is another case of me being one of the last people in the world to read something. I'm just a little bit into it, but okay. I'm not yet to the parts where you have to turn the book upside down.

Poll House of Leaves--what's up?
