Halloween

Today some kids came to my place and went "trick or treat". I was completely taken aback, because it was the first time ever kids did that in my town. Heck, as far as I now it was the first time ever kids did that in Italy. Apparently, Italian kids decided that it's not fair that only American kids get to have fun and candies on 31st October, so this year they celebrated Halloween too.

...Why didn't I and my friends make that decision 10 or so years ago?
