An old man turned 94, won the lottery
and become incredibly poor
It's a black fly that gives you ED
It's a death row pardon
that gives you a fatal paper cut
This is not ironic
Don't you think?
It's like rain on a sunny day
an airplane ride that's longer than driving
It's the good advice that takes your life
who would have thought, it figures
Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly
He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids goodbye
He got into his car to start his long drive
And as the car exploded he thought,
well isn't this nice?
This is not ironic,
don't you think?
It's like rain on a sunny day
an airplane ride that's longer than driving
It's the good advice that takes your life
who would have thought, it figures
Well life has a funny way of
going exactly how you'd expect it to go
and everything's all right
And life has a funny way of still being sucky
and alot of things go wrong
and there's nothing you can do about it.
A traffic jam that makes you arrive early
A no-smoking sign that bursts into flames
It's like ten thousand spoons and still you need more
It's meeting the man of my dreams
And then he makes my life into a nightmare
