So the good news is that Amy got a job, Textbook Manager at Delaware State University bookstore. The bad part is that it's in Dover.
Since we are NOT moving to Dover or anywhere, she's in for quite a commute.
So we decided to use her (sizable) raise to get us a...new car?! As in actual, new, not-at-the end-of-its-lifespan!?
Having been poor since birth, a new car is not something I'd ever considered to be even remotely possible. I'm not sure its possible now. We need the Finance Gods to smile upon us, something that they have rarely ever done.
I really really want it, shiny and blue, I'm not ashamed to say. Sometimes I try to be more like my Sims character.
Partly I want the car to happen 'cause it'd make me feel less guilty about her commute every day. I know this is our home but it just seems a little nuts the way things are now.(I guess moving to Dover would be equally nuts..
If I want to be at the same school nest year, (and I do.) I will have to be committed to 550$ a month for another year--at what point is National Service selfish? I don't know.
