Upon receiving this tag, immediately perform a screen capture of your desktop. It is best that no icons be deleted before the screen capture so as to add to the element of fun. Here’s how you can do a screen capture:
1. Go to your desktop and press the Print Scrn key (located on the right side of the F12 key).
2.Open a graphics program (like Picture Manager, Paint, or Photoshop) and doing a Paste (CTRL + V). If you wish, you can “edit” the image before saving it.
3. Post the picture on your blog. You can also give a short explanation on the look of your desktop if you want. You can explain why you prefer such a look or why it is full of icons. Things like that.
4. Tag five of your friends and ask them to give you a Free View of their desktops as well.
(Or if you have a Mac, go to Applications, Utilities, Grab and then do a little Apple + Z.)
I think this is all pretty self-explanatory. My desktop at home would be a bit more interesting, since this computer doesn't have a CD drive and I tend to not download anything as a result. The folder "Mine mine mine" is all of the pictures and miscellaneous things that HAVE ended up here. I am going to have a co-worker burn them to CD for me before I leave. Datavol and Sys are our two work servers, Revised Objectives is the (ridiculously boring) project I am working on right now.
All of my desktop background images here tend to be from National Geographic because I have that widget for daily picture set up on my Google homepage (which is my Firefox homepage, natch). This one didn't come from that though; it came up when I did a Google image search for "Black Rock Desert" when I was feeling homesick for Burning Man. Those are the hot springs that we are apparently not allowed to visit during/near Burn time. This picture makes me want to attempt a trip, however. Look at those colors!
Edited to add:
