three years ago, when i went to the states to work for two months, i'd been in maine for only a couple of days before the national elections were held. i never even bothered looking into registering as an out-of-country voter.
and yet now, living in ontario for nearly a year and a half, the first thing i did when they called the quebec elections was find out whether i couldn't somehow still vote.
and then got really excited when discovered that i could (just).
i keep forgetting who the ontario premier is... it's strange growing up in such a politically dramatic (well, for canada) environment, to encounter the relative calmness of other regions.
what about you guys, how much were you aware of politics growing up? how much do you still care about what's going on back home?
politics,
identity,
quebec,
heritage
