Torchwood and icecream boys!
They're back!
Thanks to em615 for the pictures. I caught a couple of the early season 2 episodes while in Mexico and I suddenly remembered how addicted I was to this show. So when I saw the commercials for the Children of Earth or whatever its called coming out in July, I was really excited. And that excitement kept building until I talked to Jena and the fog of denial I’ve been living in cleared and I remembered, oh fuck there’s a reason I haven’t been watching Torchwood-the Season Finale!! And all that excitement died like one of those deflated balloons in cartoons, whizzing through the air to land flat and lifeless at the poor kid’s feet.
I can do denial like nobody’s business. A character is not dead until I see the body (Farscape, I’m looking at you!) and even that can be negotiated (one of the reasons I like comics). But that only works if I’m not reminded of thing I’m trying to deny so watching new Torchwood is going to be painful.
On a completely unrelated note, I’ve decided to do away with guilty pleasures and embrace my shame/embarrassment whatever. Like Hello One Tree Hill, I kind of still like you a whole lots. I watched Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly on Monday and I bawled like a baby. I started tearing up over Q at the end of the last episode and then seeing everyone so upset in this one-it’s so melodramatic, I love it. Skills standing alone in the gym, Q’s mother’s speech, when Q’s little brother puts on the jersey and stands with the rest of the Ravens, when Jaime throws the cape over the coffin and Brooke starts crying-omg break my friggin' heart! I was a mess!
Speaking of guilty pleasures that are no longer guilty, while I was in Mexico I got really into this singer from Guadalajara. His name is Juan Son and OMG he’s bizarre! Like J-Rock bizarre and I kind of love him even though I know next to nothing about him. He sings about mermaids and unicorns and dresses in funny costumes, what’s not to love here?!
I have no idea what's going on in this video but he's adorable. I need translations! Or at least to suck it up and finally learn Spanish.
