Easiest year-end travel summary evah. Sigh.

So, inspired by ckd 's list of places he overnighted in away from home during 2011, I'll post mine. Because it's ridiculously easy to do. There is one oddity, but I'll get to that.

Reno - 8 nights
St. Louis - 1 night
Evansville IN - 2 nights
St. Louis - 2 nights
OK City - 1 night
Gallup NM- 1 night
Lexington - 8 nights -- which has been home for a very long time, but since I hadn't been there in over a year, and the week I was there was the only time this year, I think it now has to count as "away from home." Fucking Sigh.
TATL - 1 night
Amsterdam - 3 nights
London - 1 night

And that's IT. 28 nights all told. I srsly could have done without the St. Louis-Gallup series, given that it was totally because of Scott's accident, but it was a legitimate trip and as it became clear that we were going to survive, we even enjoyed bits of it. Mostly the resting ones, but still...

Amsterdam and London were for Smofcon, and it was wonderful to be in both cities again, however briefly. I even managed to stay in a London location I'd never been near before (Shepherd's Bush), whichI'llskipinfuturethankyouverymuch, but we had a really excellent dinner for less money than I'd thought possible in sort-of central London these days. It was at a Sardinian restaurant called Edera on Holland Park Avenue.

Meanwhile, as I type, Scott is somewhere over the Bering Sea, on his way to Singapore via Tokyo. Yes, it's an End of Year Mileage Run. Thank the ghods Delta now has Economy Comfort (and he has no one in the seat next to him either). And yes, we weighed many factors, and decided that it costed out over the next 9 months or so, never mind the "undocumented" benefits of Diamond (which, yes there are) and my Gold status. He also has enough time in Singapore to actually see a few things and eat a few meals, which according to Bourdain's "Layover" show on Singapore should be yummy and cheap.
