I think everyone should watch this scathing commentary on the Scooter scandal, which I want to thank suzvoy for posting ( Read more... )

Brilliant! But did anyone in mainstream America see it?

I hadn't seen it yet, but I would have. Keith Olbermann is often my hero but he's really said it all with this.

Countdown is a daily show on MSNBC.

Cool. Thanks!

We hear so much down here about how the liberal media is stifled and it's almost impossible for journalists to ask quetions and get answers directly from the president, and about how biased Fox and right-wing news organisations are. (Whether any of it's true or not, I don't know.)

It's refreshing to see this.

Well, much of that is true. He won't answer questions directly and FOX news needs to die.

He won't answer questions

Yikes. It's not like he's the leader of the country and should explain his actions or anything. Oh, wait.

I know, sad, isn't it?

When he isn't refusing to answer the questions, he's berating journalists for actually presuming to ask them in the first place. It's not like it's their job or anyth... oh, wait.

I adore Keith Olberman and watch his show almost every day.

It's so funny to me to hear the words "liberal media" because I sure don't see it. Not in mainstream media, anyway. And I'm not sure they're stifled as much as they have forgotten they're journalists who have a sacred obligation (rather than Paris Hilton followers). They are easily placated and shunted aside. I heard Dan Rather talking about this topic awhile ago, and what he said was fantastic.

I think that was MSNBC, which is one of the major news networks - unfortunately, it wasn't CNN or FOX (BWAH! as if Fox - or Faux, as we call it - would run that), the big two news networks. But a lot of people have seen it, and it's making the rounds on the internet. Which is why I posted it here, I'd love to see the spam its way into every email, LJ, MySpace site there is.

Of course, it's commentary - and a lot of the newspeople/journalists pride themselves on reporting the news, and staying out of partisan commentary.

Personally, I think the time has come to fight fire with fire - not so much in the "lying cheating stealing" department, but in the outspoken, take-no-prisoners context. I'm hoping the democrats understand this.
